Sustainable Development Strategies of Rainfed Paddy Fields in Central Java, Indonesia: A Review

Rainfed paddy fields have a great potential to be developed in Indonesia, especially Central Java. However, water irrigation management, drought stress, pest and disease infestation low nutrients that affect yield remain the constraints. Unpredictable climate pattern is also limiting factor cultivation of rainfed fields. This narrative review aims identify discuss solutions problems exist increase with several techniques support sustainable agriculture. paper was prepared by collecting government data interviews farmer group leaders as complementary data. Based on field conditions, farmers provide fertilization inputs are not following fertilizer recommendations.
